Chronic Inflammation Treatments
Inflammation is the body’s natural response to healing. But it becomes a problem when it’s chronic (stays long term and keeps reoccurring). It’s important to get this under control as it can lead to damage to critical organs of the body.
Some common methods for controlling Chronic inflammation are:
1) Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAID): If you go for a allophethic treament, you will most likely be prescribed NSAID medicines like naproxen, ibuprofen, and asprin. Although they do seem to work, they are linked with severe side-effects. This includes peptic ulcer and kidney disease.
2) Steroids: There is a steroid called Corticosteroids that is said to reduce inflammation by numbing down the immune system. Again, this can be helpful for emergency treatments but it’s not recommended to long-term use. Corticosteroids can lead to high BP, vision problem, and Osteoporosis.
3) Supplements and Good Food (My favourite method): There are certain foods, herbs and spices that can control inflammation. Some foods that are proven to fight inflammation are ginger, garlic and turmeric. I came across this excellent book called Inflammation Erased that covers all about treating inflammation naturally.
